Texlime
Use hydrated lime for gardens to neutralize the acidity of the soil, which helps promote the growth of turf grasses that prefer alkaline soil. This means your grass grows stronger and greener. Hydrated lime is 1.5 times more effective at raising the pH of your lawn quickly than conventional agricultural lime. It can also kill a host of lawn-dwelling parasites like fleas. Additionally, it will sanitize farm environments for animal hygiene preventing outbreaks and spreading of other diseases. Coat your lawn with hydrated lime every 3 to 5 years to keep your soil pH at an optimal level and keep harmful pests away.
For plant protection, hydrated lime can be blended with copper and/or zinc is sprayed as a ‘white wash’ on citrus plants. Commonly known as “Bordeaux Mixture” by wine producers, it also protects grapes against fungal diseases.
Soil fertility is primarily related to the combination of minerals and organic components, along with the right structure for optimum air and water exchange. You can ensure rational soil amendment using calcium and magnesium to improve the soil’s physical structure. This results in a better chemical balance and boosts the soil’s biology. By controlling topsoil acidity through use of the strong base that our products contain, you can also facilitate better plant uptake of fertilizing compounds.
Calcium hydroxide (Hydrated Lime) is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca(OH)₂. It is a colorless crystal or white powder and is produced when quicklime is mixed with water.
